How long is a session?
Typically, 45-60 minutes! But if we need more time, that’s fine too!
How many photos do we get from a session?
I deliver anywhere from 50-150 edited photos from a session! They’re delivered in an online gallery so you can download and share every single one of them!
Do you charge a travel fee?
Yes, if the location we are shooting at is over 30 minutes away from Salem, then a travel fee applies to cover my time! Travel is billed at $250 per hour, round trip. So if the location is one hour there and one hour back for me, that’s $500. I encourage you to come to me!
Do you have a studio?
I do! We are so lucky to have the Gray Lab right in downtown Salem to make all your studio sessions happen! Studios are also available in Portland to rent for an additional fee!
When is the best time of year/time of day to do a session outdoors?
It totally depends on the season and what the weather is doing. Safe to say that November through February is a crappy time to shoot outdoors in Oregon. As for time of day, I love morning light, mid day sun, and evening golden hour! So it depends on the vibe you are hoping for as all the light can make the session look and feel totally different.
What if we are really awkward in front of the camera?!
Aren’t we all kind of awkward when a camera is in our face? Well, I am! But don’t worry, I give you lots of prompts that totally help out when you’re drawing a blank or don’t know what to do with your hands. I will help pose you so you look your best!
What should we wear?
This is my favorite question! I love helping to style my clients! The short answer is: layers, warm tones, neutral tones, clothes with texture and movement that fit you comfortably, add accessories, don’t match exactly but coordinate with others and don’t be afraid to wear something you wouldn’t normally wear day-to-day! The long answer: I have an entire style guide ready to hit your inbox as soon as you book with me that is full of tips and inspiration for you and your loves!
Do you do sessions for large extended families?
Of course! Sessions for more than 10 people or more than any single family start at $700 and we can do as many people as you would like to incorporate!
